Emirates to Shift Entire Operations to Al Maktoum Airport by 2034
A Seamless Transition for Emirates Airline
Emirates Airline and Group chairman and CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, announced that the airline would relocate all operations to Al Maktoum International Airport by 2034 in a single move, part of the D33 program. Sheikh Ahmed emphasized that there will be no split of operations during this transitional period, with all flights operating from one airport. The move is deemed necessary to accommodate the expansion of regional airlines and the aviation industry. The government of Dubai has declared that over the next few years, all operations currently conducted at Dubai International (DXB) will be moved to Al Maktoum International (DWC), with DXB’s operations fully absorbed by a new Dh128 billion passenger terminal at Dubai World Central in ten years, increasing passenger capacity to 260 million annually.
