Amidst unprecedented success, Dubai International (DXB) ended 2023 with 87 million annual guests—exceeding projections. DXB’s recovery journey has been successful, establishing its status as the top airport for international traffic.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said, “DXB’s 2023 performance is a testament to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s leadership and determination.”
This highlights Dubai as the top travel destination and a global trade hub, enabled by connectivity and infrastructure.
“Dubai sets new benchmarks in passenger experience. The city aims to consolidate its position as a top tourism and business hub,” said Sheikh Hamdan.
To expand global aviation, Dubai Airports under Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum’s leadership invested in infrastructure.

DXB plans to enhance guest experiences with facility expansions and renovations, maintaining its global leadership.
Traffic figures DXB saw 31.7% more visitors in 2023, totaling 86,994,365. December was the busiest month, with 7.8 million visitors.
Operational excellence and guest experience DXB processed 77.5 million bags in 2023, maintaining a 99.8% success rate despite increased volume.
Top country destinations India led with 11.9 million visitors, followed by Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
Top destinations London remained the most popular with 3.7 million visitors.
Cargo DXB handled 1,805,898 tonnes of cargo in 2023, with a 4.5% decline from the previous year.
Flight movements DXB recorded 416,405 flight movements in 2023, a 21.3% increase from last year.
Outlook DXB expects 88.8 million visitors in 2024, nearing its 2018 record of 89.1 million visitors.
